Delete your account

1. Requesting deletion

You can delete your RidersOn account and the data attached to it at any time. The quickest way is from inside the app:

• Open Settings, then Delete account. The app lists what is deleted and what stays, then sends a code to the account's phone number. Once you enter it, the account is deleted straight away.

If you no longer have the app installed, you can ask us instead:

• By email: write to support@riderson.com with the subject "Delete my account".
• From the app: open Settings, then Contact us, and send a request saying that you want your account deleted.

A RidersOn account has no email address and no password - the phone number is the account itself. So when you send a request, please state the phone number the account is registered with, including its country code, and expect us to ask you to confirm the request from that number before anything is deleted. This step exists to protect you: without it, anyone who knows your number could close your account.

2. What is deleted

Once the request is confirmed we delete:

• Your profile: username, display name, avatar photo, gender and date of birth.
• Your motorcycles and everything recorded against them, including plate numbers.
• Your location data: any shared position, your check-ins, and your visibility settings.
• Your friends list, friend requests, and pending join requests.
• Your notification token and notification settings.
• Your entries in the lookup directory, which releases your username and phone number so they can be registered again.

Ratings you gave other riders were submitted without your name and cannot be traced back to you, so they stay with the ride they belong to.

3. What is not deleted, and why

Some content is not removed automatically because it belongs to other people as well:

• Messages you sent in group chats, ride chats, and one-to-one conversations remain visible to the people you sent them to.
• Groups and rides you created continue to exist for their members. A group can be handed to another owner from inside the app before you leave.

If you want that content removed too, say so in your request and we will remove what we can without erasing other people's conversations.

4. How long it takes, and what is kept

We answer deletion requests within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming the request. After that we keep nothing about your account except what we are required to keep by law or need in order to prevent fraud and abuse, and never for longer than 12 months.
